Bendigo Station
Bendigo is an iconic Central Otago Station comprising circa 9,321 ha (including grazing rights over some 1,981 ha of conservation land) and running approximately 17,000 sheep and beef stock units. Crighton Anderson completed a market valuation for financing and business planning purposes. Given the scale, contour, climate and water consent rights, location and the ‘brand’, the station is suited to a range of complementary uses. These include; fine wool production, pastoral finishing, dairy development on the irrigated flats, viticulture on the terraces and lifestyle residential development on sites overlooking Lake Dunstan. The valuation required experience across a variety of agri-sectors and expertise in the use of discounted cash flow (DCF) methodology to assess current and future development potential. CAPI adopted a team approach and the various enterprises were apportioned based on team member specialisations. The components were valued based on their individual merit – whilst recognising how each enterprise fitted into the overall Bendigo operation.
